I think these sort of infrastructure projects are really needed if US plans to remaining a world class country 20-30 years from now. Of course Republicans are going to object because they only like to allocate budget to tax cuts for the rich, wars in countries no one needs, and hand outs to rogue allies.

Perfectly put. Only country in the civilized western world with no bullet trains. A high priority for China too. Lobbying by Car and oil companies and the republicans thinking the only policy should be tax cuts for the rich is setting the county into second world.

Great project.......
Historically, GM, Ford, Crysler,.....and even foreign auto makers created all sorts of problems with such projects to go forward - in fear of losing sales. Cal and USA need to make sure it does not happen again.
