It's The FA Cup weekend. :football:

The Football Association Challenge Cup, commonly known as The FA Cup, is a knockout cup competition in English football, organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). It is the oldest existing football competition in the world, having commenced in the 1871–72 season. The tournament is open to all clubs in the top ten levels of the English football league system, although a club's home stadium must meet certain requirements before the club can enter the tournament. The competition culminates in May with the FA Cup Final, which has traditionally been regarded as the showpiece finale of the English football season.

The record for the most wins is held by Manchester United, with eleven titles , followed by Arsenal with ten & Tottenham Hotspur with eight.

Chelsea are the defending champions, having beaten Liverpool 2–1 in last season's final.

The 2012–2013 FA Cup is the 132nd season of The FA Cup.

A total of 833 clubs applied to enter, with 758 clubs being accepted into the competition. The preliminary rounds commenced on 11 August 2012, with the first round proper to be played on 3 November 2012 and the final to be contested on 11 May 2013 at Wembley Stadium.

The winners of the competition will earn a place in the group stage of next season's UEFA Europa League, if they have not already qualified for European competition; if so then the runners-up will instead take this berth.

Third Round Proper Fixtures

Teams from the Premier League and Football League Championship entered at this stage, along with the winners from the second round.

2nd yellow card for Newcastle's Ameobi.Newcastle down to 10 men and trailing Brighton by 0-1.

That 2nd yellow card looked a bit harsh.

We may see the first upset of FA Cup 3rd round in this match.

Hoskins scores for Brighton to lead Newcastle by 2-0 now.

A bit of a poor defending by Newcastle's Williamson , and a good finish by Hoskins who nutmegged the keeper.

Moses scores for Chelsea.good finish but poor defending by Southampton allowing Ashley Cole too much time and space & not marking Moses on that attack.
