The 1,420 ton Jamaran destroyer was launched on Friday.


Two days after its launch, Iran's domestically-manufactured Jamaran destroyer has completed its first mission in the waters of the Persian Gulf.

The indigenously-designed and developed guided missile destroyer fired against imaginary air and land targets on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Jamaran began patrolling southern Persian Gulf waters before army commandos successfully landed on its deck.

Iran launched on Friday the 1,420 ton destroyer, equipped with a variety of anti-ship and surface-to-air missiles.

The Navy plans to add a second domestically manufactured destroyer to its fleet some time within the next two years.

So much money spend to buy something from China or Russia and repaint it. Sad thing is, US and even those arab countries around Iran that have F16, F18s, ... flying under the Awacs radars can destroy it within seconds.

Would not have the money been better spend on research and development to help create competitive industries in a non-military?

But then, what would expect from a government that is the biggest enemy of their own people raping, killing, and torturing and ruling over them by force. They have to fight both domestically and internationally as Sadam did. But that is what you get for raping and murdering your own people.

2) Iran can NOT affort to build the bomb simply because the Iranian economy is bankruped and they can not afford to spend $10 billions for a bomb.
3) Iran does not have the knowledge to build the bomb and Ahmadinejad and the west are using this as a propaganda issue for their own advantage. Ahmadinejad to win the heart and soul of the Iranian people by stealing billions of Dollars for the 'project' and the west selling their arms to the Persian Gulf states by creating more jobs while Israel to benefit by getting more US tax Dollars help frpm $2billion a year to $5 billion.

The word 'wipping out Israel' was a calculated word from Khamenei and Ahmadinejat! They wanted to tell the world that there is no room for negotiation and Iran is comitted to go nuclear. The Iranian regime also knows that any attack on Iran is nothing but a suicide. Therefore they used that phrase as a propaganda in Iran to the Iranian people. They are telling the Iranian people that nobody can do anything. Therefore, the regime is trying to extend its lifecycle while suppressing the opposition in the street. But the Iranian people have NO BINESH SIASSI! That is why they are brainedwashed so easily by keeping them from the truth and implementing strick censorship while stuffing them whith this religion crap. As long as the regime is spending billions of dollars on subsidies in order to keep the price of bread and public transportation down, the Iranian people will act like sheeps waiting to be guided into the prairies! Few smart people are running the show in Iran and they know that they can succeed as long as they can keep the level on people intelect low.

Is the attack on Iran suicide? How do we evaluate that? How do you go about evaluating that?

Sadam used to talk about how powerful he was and we know how he was hung.

Probably, there will be sanction, etc.. to weaken the regime first, not to mention the more anti-regime demonstrations that will be coming in the near future that will continue to weaken the regime as well.

If there will be attack, it will be on the nuclear plants but dont think that will happen for a while.

The success in Afghanistan and Iraq will play a decisive move on what the near future will hold for Iran.
