Dear Sly,
Niloufar’s intelligence and beauty proves my point.
Beauty is not every thing but hiding our daughters in the house is not the answer.
It is all about confidence, if an Iranian girl happens to be nice looking and confident she can take part, provided she does not live in Iran.

I have two daughters age 17 and 20 and I would not stop their progress in anyway. It is up to them to take part or reject the whole thing.

More success for Iranian women in all aspects of life and in all arenas is welcomed by me.
In Nobel Prize, in writing, in movies, in music, in business, in sport in miss world etc.

This Miss World contest was initiated by the Hollywood in USA. The sole purpose of the contest was to promote and find a good and most beautiful actress.
Now days the concept has been revised and modified to some thing which is at least totally un-know to me.
As for Miss Iranian euro first of all she does not qualify to be Miss Beauty simply because she is not beautiful. She is short; here body does not meet the standards. She is hairy, here smiles is not sexy. Who cares for the intelligence, no men care for intelligent girls spatially in the bed, if that is what the beautiful girls meant to be. The most important concept of the beautifulness for the girls is their appearance, how sexy and pleasing they are.
Most Iranian girls and ladies that I have seen and know with exception of very few don’t have good talking skills. They talk like BACHEH GORBEH with mooning voice. When they talk they don’t look at you. Their legs are curvy like KAMOON. One of my friends has very good saying: He said one of the tests for beautiful girl should be dropping an egg from here butt height if the egg reached the ground unbroken she should be immediately disqualified without any explanation.
At last I have a joke; a man from city marries a woman from village, at first night of the weeding when they go to the bed woman was laying down on the bed like dead peace of meat. Man said to the woman don’t you know any thing, say some thing, do some thing sexy. Woman said I don’t know any thing sexy if you like I can fart for you. Sorry, the English version may not be as good as parsi.
Which 'Dahat' are you from and when did you get off the boat ?

First of all...

Good Luck to her!! I hope this is not another future porn star ( as Kambujieh) said earlier.

There is nothing wrong in participating in beauty contest. I think she is beautiful and charming. Everybody else who disagrees the fact is just being jelous.

2ndly, we all should be proud of her., why NOT.. what has she done that is wrong????? Don't pre-judge her based on couple of pictures. When are we going to learn to not judge people prematurely!!

Khoshnoud jan, "HIDING" our daughters in the houses?? What are you talking about man? This is a whole another subject that you are bringing up! I never said we should stop people to do what ever they want to do! This is (should be) a free world but I'm only saying programs like "miss world" only give out the message: "The ideal girl is the one who looks good and has a nice body" which is totally wrong and meaningless!

Ofcourse as you say, it's up to girls themselves to decide what ever they want to do but IMO if a girl is really intelligent, she can use her "confidence" to do profitable and useful things instead of competing about who's got the best looks and can talk and walk best in a certain way.

I don't see any relevance between "nobel prize, writing, movies, business, sports" and "miss world" what so ever!

Having said all that....I do enjoy watching the program because I do enjoy watching beautiful girls. ;) But I definitly would never call them intelligent!

Sly Jan,
I agree with you and accept your general comment that you said about:
Programs like "miss world" only give out the message: "The ideal girl is the one who looks good and has a nice body".

I remember that in olden days “miss world” was even worse and was based only on beauty. However, I am not proud of the Miss World program, I am proud of the fact that; in what ever competition Iranian women take part, even such as miss world they do well. This is amazing particularly in terms of confidence, as we all know that Iranian women by in large have had a very tough time and are not given equal opportunity in life compared to their say European counterparts.

Bijan jan, why do you think it's an old way of thinking?! If you read what I wrote in my last reply to Khoshnoud, you'll see what I mean. I really don't understand why you think this is an old way of thinking! Would you please elaborate?

General Parsaian,

your reasonings are illogical. Getting into too mcuh of details (that has nothing to do w/ you or us all.)
Even if she chooces to become a porn star is none of our business, baba, stop being so typical iranian and grow out of that OLD mentality.

everyone has expressed their opinion/view and is all very well respected.

thanx for your great comments Romira and Bijan jan!!kash hameye mardom mesle shoma budan..I just wished..

This is a typical Iranian mentality. Once one of us,is awarded for something millions of others jump on bandwagon to put her down.by calling name ,starting rumour,etc.. samething happened when Sh.Ebadi won the award.everyone all of a sudden were her #1 enemy.
U dont like her looks, fine its your taste. but calling her names and putting her down is very sick.
ie.calling a 1.74 metre (5ft 10 inch) tall girl, "short"!!(how tall is your gf?!2meter?!),denouncing her intelligcence just bc she took part in this event(Do u know her in person that u say she is not intelligent?!),calling her hairy(have u slept with her that u call her hairy?!),or similar looking as the 70Euro prostitute u met in the street few days ago, are soooo disrespectful.

No wonder she is dating a "Non-Iranian" bf. seriously..jeeez.

Ya khoda...baz shoroo shod... :D

Dearest Niloufar and Bijan...I don't agree with people who say she's hairy or she's short etc. etc. and I certainly don't agree with what general Parsaian is saying! But would please read my last reply to khoshnoud to see what I even meant??

jeez....I'm dying to know in what way you think what I said was typical iranian or even an old way of thinking! :) So "pretty please, with sugar on top", explain your accusations! :D (Actually I think what you are saying is typical iranian way of thinking but I need to know the reason behind your thoughts about what I said first to be able to explain my thoughts! ;))

damn niloufar :)

you dont have to sleep with someone to know theyre hairy ;)
but ya if a girl is that height who the hell calls her short?she is taller than half iranian men!luckily im taller ;)

hmm...personally im not one to attach too much weight to the significance of such awards, other than at face-value. nevertheless, better an iranian beauty queen than someone else, if its gonna be given out!it doesnt mean she is stupid, doesnt mean she is smart.take it at what it is, she is miss europe...end of story.

i dont care either way. i wont put her down, but im not gonna lift her up either.
if she is goodlooking then ill say ya she is goodlooking, cause lets face it such awards are largely based on beauty, looks, etc and only secondarily upon other things.

but guys, for those guys living in the 18th century, can we move on :)

Sly, agha comments like those az toh baeed bood. I hope you took them all back :)

And to parsian, with all due respect I think only a loser would say "why we have to be proud of her?? becouse some german boy F***ing her A$$??". Just pathetic.

Bijan said it all...greatly put.

LOOOOOLLL....oh man this is just getting so funny!

Everybody here seem to accuse me of this without even being able to explain themselves! You can't just say "in az to baeed bood, this is an old way and a typical iranian way of thinking" without any elaborations?? :D

If you say something you have to stand for it so we can have a discussion! ;)

and Agha shoja jan, ofcourse I don't take it back! Instead I do hope you guys will agree with me. Otherwise I would really get surprised on how much we haven't changed since 200 years ago! :)

A smart and intelligent girl would never take part in such an event even if she got paid for it! Unfortunately only education doesn't necessarily make a person intelligent!
Sly,
I quote you to show repeat what u said about "an intelligent girl would never take part in these kind of events".
so do u know every single one of those girls taking part in this event, measure their IQ,talked to them and thats why u r sure an intelligent girl would never take part in these events?!!!

Im sorry but this comment is nothing but a generalization.

Niloufar, that is EXACTLY what it is! :) I did generelize and didn't direct what I said only at her personally!!! The qoute you had there wasn't my last comment to Khoshnoud, so again, if you read that one, you'll know why I generelized! In fact let me save you the trouble and qout what I said here:

The thing is that people here call her intelligent only because she won a beauty contest and knows afew languages. (but exactly as you say, we don't really know about her personally, right? ;)) and all I'm saying is that GENERALLY, people who take part in such contests are very superficial and not very intelligent and the reason for it I explained above. ;)

Now I don't really know the problem with that? and specially where the "typical iranian thing" come from? :D

Sly,
no1 really called her intelligent. If u read the whole thread from beginning, it was more of bashing and putting her down than anything else. which is not anything new for Iranians,really..

As much as Im not sure if she is intelligent, u r not sure if she is Not intelligent too. but considering she is a uni graduate and knows 4 languages(average person knows 2 languages), she isnt a blonde either. That Iranian Miss Canada(became 2nd in Miss World) was involved in charity projects for U.N and helping homeless kids.

All Im saying is instead of trying to judge her or putting her down, we should be proud of her,as an Iranian, winning the beaty title of "Miss Europe".is that too much to ask?!

hmmmm...then where did I read that?? Must have been from another thread in a whole another forum then. ;) :) and about bashing her....I definitly don't agree with people calling her short or hairy etc. but I think the whole thing was just more like a joke too. I don't think people are very serious about those things here! :)

Niloufar said:

THAT I agree with you! But I wasn't putting her down, I was rather putting the whole miss beauty contest and everyone who take part in it down.

Niloufar said:

Are you kidding me? That's part of the whole concept of these beauty contests. There are even SCHOOLS in countries like Venezuella in which they educate girls to talk, walk and do certain things to be able to go far in these contests. The whole charity work thing is also a part of it and most of the girls (if not all) participating are (or get) into these things just for the holders to say the contests are not only about beauty (yeah right)!

Instead of participating in these contests, an intelligent and smart girl would know that this is not really something you would call choosing an ideal girl. She would know the real Ideal girl or woman is the 35 year old single mother who has to raise her 3 childeren on her own and at the same time goes to the uni to get an education and a better paied job! She would known the ideal girl is the one who takes care of her smaller sibilings because their whole family died in e.g. zelzeleh! and these things have nothing to do with their appearance!

Yes you are right....nobody should judge her and as I said I'm not putting her down personally but I put down all these people who participate in the beauty contests, no matter if they are iranian or from Afghanistan!
