It's quiet old, but whats easy to see is how fast his approach is and the smoke coming out of his tail pipe. tha tell me the engine has massive problems and his hydraulics are in trouble. he cant controll his flaps and has no controll over his engine or speed. it's amazing the pilots did'nt dicth the plane over the desert and tried to save it till the end.

Suki -24's have a special sheild that protects the cockpit in case of an explosion in the fuel tank for enough time so the Pilots can use the ejection seat to get out un-scathed. thats why they could use they're ejection seats when the fuel tank exploded. both pilots survived and had minor injuries like few scratches and bruises.

Dear ZE, the IRIAF and not the IRGAF flies the Suki-24's. the IRGAF only flies the Suki-25's for close air support missions and few other garbage light areocrafts.

Actually Sukhoi - 24 fencers bombers are very good birds. They are also ver hard to shoot down because of there ability to go supersonic at very low altitude. it can go mach 1.35 at low altitude. it can carry laser guided and tv guided bombs. it also carries iranian version of a C-802 anti ship missiles.

Sukhoi's in general are very good fighters. Sukhoi 30's are more then a match for the american fa-18 hornets, super hornets and f-15's.the Indian Airforce in a training excersise took the Israelie f16's and f-15's on and won. once the new Sukhoi 35,37 and 40 comeout, they'll be just as good as anything in the USAF arsenal not named the f-22 raptor.In a dogfight up up close 5 things cout. climb rate,speed, agility, visibelity and avionics. the Sukhoi 30, 35, 37 and 40 has and will have those traits.The Russian fighters in general are very good up close dogfighting planes, but in BVR or long distance they struggle because the rely on the ground crews to direct them.
