June 1964- Iran qualifies for 1964 Tokyo Olympics

The first one is a picture of Legendary Hossein Fekri, the head coach of Iran who is being congratulated by the couragous Aziz Asli, after Iran qualified for Olympics. The other picture is Hamid Shirzadegan, another heroic figure of the past.

Remembering Aziz Asli and today's Rahmati who says good-bye to Team Melli in the middle of World Cup qualification is another reason to lament the status of our football!!

yes,hossein,fekri,and aziz asli....what a great coach he was.....

I send a picture of Iran vs germany in tokyo olympic 1964.....the day,Iran lost 4-0 to his rival germany.....but aziz asli had a great night....he saved us a big time,against the best germany team....this is the third goal of germany team.....mostafa arab,is watching the ball,aziz asli,dived,but unable to save the ball....

aziz asli,saved 12 goals for us on the night.....see how he was agil,and well prepared....

in this particular match,due to banning of iranian legends(behzadi,shirzadegan,dehdari,...etc)....Iran could not play well,but experts believed this team was one of the strongest team in history......

Iran managed to tie with mexico 1-1,and then they lost 1-0 to rumania,and they were eliminated from the olympic games.....

once again,great picture.....yes hamid shirzadegan....this picture belongs to Iran vs pakistan ...the great player and captain of pakistan is mohammad amin,which you see his picture here....

mohammad amin,was the captain,and great pakistani player who used to play in a second division of english league....bet was 60-40 for pakistan before this game......

Guys please do not mix up,pakistan,in the era,was one of the greatest team in asia...with a english coach,and a great players who had already been trained well by english coaches.....

great AZIZ ASLI.....the one who saved as against india,and pakistan in final olympic qualifying games.....

he saved us a big time in olympic tokyo,1964,...against RUMANIA,AND GERMANY ....THIS PICTURE BELONGS to early 1960......before olympic games.....
