با آنکه هاشمی رفسنجانی رئیس مجمع تشخیص مصلحت نظام است، دبیرخانه مجلس خبرگان رهبری با صدور اطلاعیه ای، سفر هاشمی رفسنجانی به قم را اعلام داشت که این خود می رساند که سفر درارتباط با وظائف این مجلس انجام می شود. یعنی تفاهم بر سر انتخاب رهبر جانشین و یا تفاهم بر سر شورای رهبری. از آنجا که طرح شورائی کردن رهبری با مخالفت روبروست، تمام رایزنی ها روی انتخاب فرد دور می زند. هاشمی در سفر به قم، آن گفتگوها و رایزنی ها را ادامه خواهد داد که در تهران نیمه تمام ماند. گفتگوها و رایزنی هائی که عمدتا متوجه "محمد خاتمی" و تفاهم بر سر انتخاب او بعنوان رهبر مطرح است.

I believe this rumor and other rumors suggesting Khamenehi being dead are unfortunately not true. Ivanov the Russian security chief met with Khamenehi today.
