Yankees ask the city for another $400 million in bonds the same week they spend $240 million on signing Sabathia and Burnett. As Borat would say....very nice.

burnett isnt even that good consistently. I'm happy that he left toronto, i just wish that toronto would use that freed salary to get someone else, but I think they just removed the funding completely

Exactly..."coincidentally" Burnett's had his two best years when he was in his contract year.

And then they go on and sign Teixeira for $180 million. The one silver lining is that even the Red Sox are complaining that they can't compete financially with the Yankees. This coming from a team that pays $14 million a year to JD Drew. Yeah whatever...the last thing I would do is to have sympathy for Boston.
