But I thought the main reason for a sponsor is to get their ads out which usually includes having their logo on the shirts?? :confused:

The same way Puma had their logos on opur shirts in the WC!

I think some of objections relate to use( abuse) of National Flag in Saipa logo although disguised.

Their are two kinds of sponsors.
1. Jersey sponsor like Puma , Nike or Daei.
2. is a company, like Mercedes for germany and Saipa for Iran. Or Tim for Italy and Carlsberg for England.

Jersey sponsor is allowed to be on the national jersey while playing during a official game

nr 2 sponsor is when warming up, freindlie games and before official games.

u can have it for qualification round but not final round ,according to FIFA roles , so is ok

To be honest like I said in the other thread, the Saipa logo is not at all obvious with the naked eye. It only becomes obvious when they tell you. And none of us noticed it until this article.

I wonder how much Saipa paid for something that most people would fail to recognise!
