Nilu aziz, You liken Iran's "forced hejab" law to the kid who is beaten up everyday. I have no doubt that's how it feels to you and millions more. You have every right to feel humiliated, and your personal freedom violated by this ugly practice. I assure you, however, that to those wearing hejab as a matter of faith, being forced to take it off feels no less humiliating. The suggestion that wearing hejab somehow shakes the foundations of secularism is just as ludicrous as the suggestion that bi-hejabi somehow shakes the foundation Islam. They BOTH curb individual freedoms; only under different contexts. The only people who can tell you "which is worse" are the victims. If you ask them, you'll be surprised to see how alike you and them feel.
Great post Eshgi. This is not a us against them argument. Its about the government or the majority exercising too much power unneccesarily.

AghA Reza,
Then why muslims living in US, UK, France, Italy, Holland, Canada, NZ insist on not obveying the law of the land? Arn't they basically Christian Nations?
I remember that You were among the people preaching against " No Hijab Law" in France when CLEARLY it is the Law of the Land. Are we resorting to hypocrasy to prove our point of view now?....LOL
This is ISLAM you dont like it fight against it. ISLAM is never supposed to allow you doing what you like. It is clear about its laws and is not double-faced like your democratic governments.

Actually the hypocracy is on your part because:

1- Islamic government is clear and has its rules for people to obey. Islam has NEVER said people are free to do what they want.

2- A Democratic government like France brags about freedom of choice and people's liberty and hell they have made a monument (Statut of Liberty) and gave it to the most democratic nation (USA) yet they are the real hypocrates restricting the freedom of wearing hejab.

Now you tell me where is the hypocracy???

what has liberty and freedom of wearing hejab got to do with democracy??
Democracy/Liberty ===> freedom of choice/free individuals ====> free to wear head cover.

DO YOU Ander- estand now?

reza..what are you buzzing about?? shouldn't you become "gheyrati" again and support the stoning of some girl who got raped?
ISLAM is clear about its laws, no hypocracy involved. When you live under Islamic government you should follow its rules at least in public. If you dont like it you have the following choices:

1- try to change the regime (good luck, you really need it ;) )
2- go away far far away ;)
3- to empty your oghdeh get online and pour your oghdeh on the net frequently its a good therapy :D
4- blend in your new habitat and pretend your are one of them.
5- find a new hobby

Bullshit..

Democracy has nothing to do with freedom of choice or free individuals. Liberty has also nothing to do with democracy.
democracy means "rule by the people"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy

Liberty is acting on your own will..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberty

The US is a democracy, but the liberty there to do whatever you like is very limited.
One has nothing to do with the other...

Now, Iran is neither a democracy nor do the people live in any type of liberty by modern standards...so what do you care for what people have to wear when they go to court in France?

whatever you say...

French law is also very clear...you can wear whatever you want in the streets, as long as you wear something, but when you go to court, school or anything else provided by the public, you have to respect certain dress codes.
That's VERY CLEAR in my opinion...and much much clearer than any Islamic law.
Apart of that, it has also no hypocrisy, or hypocracy as you say :), because everyone is treated the same.
Now whether a group of people likes it or not, the majority of French people have apparently no problem with it...that again is democracy.
Better try to live with it and stop comparing apples with rotten apples. ;)
