Hopefully we will see some of this gheyrat tonight!!! As pessimistic one can be about our chances, there is no doubt we will all sit in front of that TV tonight hoping our boys pull of what could be one of the sweetest victories in the past couple of years..Even sweeter then the 6-0 thrashing of Bahrain!!

As much as I want Iran to win I highly highly highly doubt we would stand a chance. Specially on the jinxed day of the death day of that khomeini pos sob.

That Uruguayan striker of Qatar - Suryan - is out due to suspension.he would have been quite handful if playing. good riddance. :)

Qater vs Iran kicks off at 20:45 (Iran time). the other group match is Lebanon vs S.Korea and it kicks off at 22:00 (Iran time)

Early matches today in other Asian group , Japan vs Australia should be a tasty one.it kicks off in about 40 minutes.i'll be watching this one.

Oman vs Iraq follows a bit after the end of Japan vs Australia match. this group has turned into a dog fight for 2nd place & 3rd place.

Japan - 6 games - 13 points
Jordan - 6 games - 7 points
Australia - 5 games - 6 points
Oman - 6 games - 6 points
Iraq - 5 games - 5 points

Watching the Japan-Australia game now, and these Aussies are even more badbakht then us. Lucas Neil doesn't even have a club to play for & hasn't for a while now, and is captaining the national team as a fix player, and talk about over weight...At least 5kg...

HT finished 0-0...

Japan playing a good passing game so far.making triangles in small spaces and Honda with some good penetrating passes. Aussies defending with numbers when they lose the ball and a couple of chances one of which was a one on one saved by Japaneses keeper. Fulham's Mark Schwartzer has been good for Aussies.specially with high crosses into the box.

I think Aussies did a good away job in the first half in not conceding.2nd half should be a good one. looking forward to see more of Man United's Kagawa.

good cross by Kagawa. Schwartzer got a hand on it and the ball fell to Honda who was well defended and shanked his shot wide.

Rugby tackle by McKay on Honda. free kick given but no card by Bahraini referee.

Honda's free kick just over the bar.

still 0-0.

what a great shot block on Aussie's Tim Cahill. Uchida saved a sure goal for Japan with his great timing on that tackle.

Tommy Ore scores for Australia leading Japan by 1-0.

He made what seemed to be intended a cross but the ball lobbed over the keeper and went in.Japan keeper Kawashima was a bit at fault for the goal.

I'm pretty hyped for this game and I'm happy some of you guys are sending serious good vibes TM's way. We have our problems on the filed, off the field and everywhere else in the country, but for 90 minutes none of that is going to matter - just a ball and hopefully 11 gheyrati guys wanting a trip to Brazil real badly.

GO TM :mexi-wave:

Do we have the line-up yet?
