With all recent discussions going on and the several uprisings in Iran that so far have been put down by violence of the Islamic republic's multi-layered security apparatus, it is not difficult to see the yearning of the Iranian people for justice, freedom and equality. A yearning of nearly two centuries so far has been either quashed or derailed. But it cannot be denied forever. If you were voting in a free referendum, which form of governance would you choose for Iran. Feel free to elaborate and discuss and remember to discuss the ideas brought forward, not the people that bring them. Play the ball, not the player! The choices are:
1. Islamic republic, as in its current form, reformed or another one, but a rule under Islamic laws.
2. Socialist republic, as inspired by the left movement
3. Federal republic as in U.S, France, etc.
4. Constitutional Monarchy, where a prime minister and government is elected by the people. This could be of Reza Pahlavi or another person.
5. Absolute monarchy, where the monarch rules with dictatorship. This was added because some seemed to think in other discussions that Iran needs a dictator!
6. Rule of a council elected by people for a term.
7. Other forms that you will explain.
8. You're simply not sure.
You will be able to change your vote possibly as a result of the discussions.
