He just passed away. He was the first player that I was obsessed about and tried to learn everything about. I had bought his autobiography in Iran although later when I read it in English I realized they had cut out many parts of it for unknown reasons (for example the remainder of Brazil's match against France in the 1958 semifinals after Brazil went up 2-1). True legend in international soccer.

بعد از بازی با منتخب تهران که پنج یک به نفع سانتوز شد و دو گل سانتوز هم داور مردود کرد تیمسار خسروانی به رسم یادبود قالیچه ای به پله اهدا کرد و پله به شوخی گفت این قالیچه را باید به داور بدید !
فکر کنم حاج ابولحسن داور بود .
بازیکنان اصلی ایران درگیر مسابقات خارجی بودند.

به یاد زمانی که پله در سال ۱۳۵۱ به ایران آمد همراه با حمیرا و نسرین. در جشنی به افتخار پله. روحش شاد View attachment 46558
حمیرا که با زیباییش دل پله رو برده ، ولی سمت چپی نسرین نیست ، اما هر کی هست که خیلی .

I recently saw some of Pele's old clips. Unfortunately the evidence of his games are limited as cameras weren't in every football ground like today. But from what I saw, Pele was the first to do everything that we saw later from other players. Every skill that Maradona, Messi have done, Pele did them first. Even the famous Cruyf turn, Pele did it first.

RIP legend.
