The calm and peace seem to have prevailed. Sky is clear and sunny -- lots of sunshine.
I don't agree with you guys that the conflict is over and now the regime has to find a way to deal with the people. That's simply not the case.
Where things stand right now, we have an illegitimate government who is considered by a majority of the populace not as the opposition but as the enemy (the supreme leader included). This is not something that time will heal. Another figure Mousavi who the majority consider to be the true President (we should all refer to him as that for psychological warfare) and he has still not been arrested due to the regime's fear of the people. And a lot of political back and forths behind the scenes, but the key here is that Mousavi has made it clear that he's not going to make a deal and he will "keep going until the vote of people is truely counted" which really means until Khamenei (not the regime) is de-throned.
The government is hoping to keep the streets clear for long enough that people will eventually forget. But constantly keeping those goons on the streets takes an incredible amount of money and they will tire out sooner or later. They simply cannot control the flow of information from within the country 24/7 either. That'd be like trying to put toothpaste back in the tube. What really happened during this coup and several modified versions of it is now common knowledge in Iran and nobody will forget. That's evident in chants of "allah akbar" still heard every night and the persistant anger that people have. The next stop is 18 of Tir (next thursday), we will see what happens.
One last thing, don't think for one second that if this government can somehow control the people and keep governing, that they will give in by allowing more freedom. This is a circus who among others such as Mesbah is run by Khamenei who is dillusional. He took the country down this road because he has Lung Cancer, has extreme addiction to taryaak and is afraid he will not live long enough through 8 more years of a "reformist" government (had he let Mousavi to hold the title of president while not allowing any authority to him).
This is the same governement that has taken over the oil and industrial money of the country and is not even willing to share with other Akhoonds and parties, that's why there is so much divide within. They are not willing to give people the most basic freedoms, not freedom of thought (cause that would obviously lead to trouble for them) but freedom of holding your gf's hand in the street without being interrogated. And with their stupidity they've put pressure on the population from every possible dimension that they finally exploded, goodluck collecting the pieces now!
