While the football excitement is there, it's important to remember what this world cup really means for the urban population in Brazil. It means more poverty, class-divide and continuation of corruption.

Is there any positive side?
Ok Let's hold the World cup in KSA, Qatar, Bahrain WHO earn Money from oil.
It says:
Despite being the world's 6th largest economy Brezil remains a 3th World country. But the economy will get larger after World cup. Turists will will travel to Brezil more often those people get richer. They sell icecream these days they can buy a car after World cup.

Unbelievable!

Don't be a simpleton. Get educated on the matter. Seriously it takes 5 minutes of Googling to learn that hosting a World Cup or Olympics is ALWAYS (not sometimes) a losing venture for the the host. It advocates class-divide and in the case of Brazil (and China a few years ago) it makes thousands of people homeless.

Imagine your family in Iran having to evacuate their home at the top of a hill for little to no money, so investors could build luxury apartments there. This happens all the time, but at times of hosting major sporting events like World Cup or Olympics it gets very ugly.

Brazilians are living in slums while Fifa and its sponsors will get much richer off their tax money. Ice cream?!!! Learn a thing or two will ya?

Why all of the sudden have you changed so much? From running a football discussion forum to frustrating people from football. I understand why you don't earn good money in this business.
All those poor people in Brezil will earn good Money if they find an activity in this period like selling an icecream. Then Brezilian players are being sold to any country including Iran or African poor country. If no country hold the World cup football will be forgotten.
It costs yes it costs. But they will will earn the Money back.

What? do you disagree?
There is going to be 200,000 people in those stadiums. If you sell 10,000 hotdogs each 1 $ it is 10,000 $ for one day. How about renting rooms? even in those houses.
Have you been in North Iran? They rent rooms every day.
Bro Back to back World Cup and Olympic will put people in even a worse financial debt and situation than they are right now and you are suggesting they can use Ice Cream for 28 days ? when the average income is $2 per day then I assure you they can't even afford to buy the Ice Cream to sell

First of all why do you care? They want to hold World cup let them do it.
Second they just said Brezil is the 6th largest economy in the World. These people believe the government should spend Money on social reforms. Not that they don't have the Money. Brezil is rich. They just don't think the Money should be used in World cup. But you and I we both know if they wanted those reforms they would have done it regardless of World cup.
In these 28 days Hotels will be full and many would ask to stay in the house of those poor people. A room will cost 100 $ they will pay. Resturants will be full.
You can sell banana they will buy. I am sure many will earn lots of Money in Brezil these days.

Unbelievable ignorance............

The only major event that benefited the economy ( not necessarily ice cream sales but positive return of investment for economy) out of all summer/winter Olympics and World Cups has been known to be Barcelona.
The rest, all failed in economic aspect.

Actually hot dogs are very popular in Brazil. there are plenty of hot dog stands in commercial streets of Brazilian cities. it's called " cachorro quente ".

They put shoestring potatoes (khalal sibzamini) in their hot dogs.

I know you two are administrators but can't you use different title so it does n't look like you back each other.
What is your message? World cup shouldn't be held in Brezi. OK where should it be so it is beneficial?

I am ignorant. Teach me ...

Thanks to this useful thread , i'm making myself some Brazilian hot dog tonight. it's a great mazzeh for Vodka/Whisky as well as tasty munchies for " nashe khori ".

Baked Soossiss with chopped tomato , chopped parsley and chopped onion with mustard , vinegar and shoestring potatoes (khalal sibzamini) on top of it.
