On Monday afternoon under the supervision of Flamengo's medical services, Vinicius Jr. passed a medical examination in Barra Tijuca and the results were immediately sent to the doctors at Real Madrid; the final hurdle in the deal to bring the Brazilian striker to the Spanish capital. The reports supported the perfect physical condition of the player, who will have the opportunity to debut with Flamengo's first-team on Wednesday. He will do so, however, with all media outlets understanding that he has already given his blessing for a transfer to Los Blancos. It's been a difficult deal for Real to secure given that Vinicius Jr. was wanted by some of their competitors, most notably Barcelona, who were absolutely in the race for his signature.Florentino Perez has had to authorise a situation where Real have gone to the limit in terms of the economic and personal parts of the deal. The presence of Andre Cury, an employee of Barcelona and very close to the Traffic agency which represents the player, meant that the entire process was loaded with tension. What swung the deal Real's way aside from the affection they have showered on the player and the money he has been promised, was the guarantee that as soon as he sets foot in the club he will be part of the first-team, not Castilla - the reserve side. His parents' visit to Madrid has also been decisive for a player who will cost around 40 million euros - at just 16 years of age!Vinicius Jr. will sign his first professional contract with Flamengo this week, but on account of Real Madrid, a club that will pay him despite the fact that until June 30, 2018 he will not be seen at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. The Spaniards, of course, will closely monitor his movement over the next 14 months and Los Blancos won't rule out sending a coach close to the club over to Brazil to run the player's career in the interim. The life of the striker will change completely in the coming days, both in the sporting and economic aspect. His new salary will allow him luxuries that until now he didn't contemplate, another reason why he has been seduced by his new employers.

I seriously think Football should establish the salary cap rules like some of North American sports and NHL hockey(in last 10 years), this way you give every single team a chance to compete and to win. The big issue remain transfer fees though.

James Rodriguez, Real Madrid's attacking midfielder, has reached an initial agreement to sign for Manchester United, according to Colombian radio station RCN.

Journalist Antonio Casale, director of the programme En La Jugada (In the move), revealed that according to his sources, the player and his agent Jorge Mendes (who also represents Mourinho, the coach of Man Utd), met recently with Florentino Pérez to express James' dissatisfaction for his situation at the club and to show him the offers the player has on the table.

.
.James ready to move to Manchester

However the Real Madrid president urged them to wait until after the season has finished to take stock of the situation. This didn't go down well with James, who has now reached an initial agreement with United to swap Madrid for Manchester. All that's lacking is for Real Madrid to agree to the deal, once the Champions League final in Cardiff has been played.

James lacking opportunities at Real Madrid

James' lack of playing time saw the player thinking seriously about his future in December. However he finally decided to stay and attempt to convince Zidane of his place in the French coach's plans.

.
.And his performances recently are on his side, whether he stays or goes. Despite having played only 1,739 minutes, being 19th on the most used list, with only Casillas, Pepe, Mariano and Coentrao appearing less, he's scored 11 and set up 13.

James: win LaLiga and the Champions League and then...

James is focused, like the other players in the squad, in winning the double of LaLiga and the Duodécima, the 12th European Cup, a double Real Madrid haven't won since 1958. He's not going to let up his day to day work, but he's not happy with his situation at the club, and so he's looking to his future, a future that looks ever more likely to be in England...
