I disagree. Giving professional athlete too much privilege can cause conflict that others will follow such stupidity and smoke as well.
However, Klaus Augenthaler Bayerns defense icon was a chain smoker and competed to the highest level.
Still I would expect that no players risk his ability to be at his top condition and I agree to penalize such player for a game or so.
