Down 8-2 - didn't make sure of the pot in frame 10.

He turned his anger towards Ronnie into self-punishment. flagellating himself like its Ashura

Hossein is being ritualistically torn apart by the world's best player of all time, who when he is hungry (after Hossein's statements) goes into Super Saiyan mode. Hossein pretty much single-handedly created this Ronnie performance by his own actions. O'Sullivan now playing around with trick shots.

This will be a key match for Vafaei if he reflects on this and the many mistakes he has made here.

Never again should he do what he did right after the Ding match. Never again should he do what he did in frame 2. And when there is an easy pot and he is 7-2 down, he can't piss around.

This is now on him and on the people around him to reflect and learn lessons. If he doesn't learn these, he will always be an entertainer but he will never become a big figure in this sport.

I watched the final frame to see the reactions, actually they both were very nice to each other and left chatting with smiles and laughter which was a nice ending to a terrible performance by Hossein Vafaie ...

Don't ever do that sort of thing again Volek .

Mentality-wise he is still such a kid. He is really immature - see how he talks in the video below ...

But he is right in that with some help he can become a top top player. He needs a sports psychology coach first and foremost. That's more important than anything else

He's been through a lot to get to be playing at this level - the first iranian snooker star. But someone needs to fix this pronto or he is going to embarrass himself again

He won 6-1. Not seen him as dominant as this in terms of his range of shots and playing so will with both hands. As per Shaun Murphy and Steve Davis there is no one playing as well as him in this tournament.

He just got arrogant on frame 6 and played a silly shot but apart from that was perfect

Another great performance against Zhang which showed his mentality has improved

The real test is today - Ronnie O'Sullivan at 1pm GMT. Hope he lets his snooker do the talking this time

This is the semi final btw, suffice to say if he by a miracle wins this tournament - it changes things for this sport globally

Ronnie's taken it up a gear as expected. Even though they are "now friends" deep down i'm sure he wants to keep going at Vafaei to put him in his place after those comments.

Hossein is playing very well during this tournament but psychology at the highest level of any sport is something else and he is still too emotional

2-2 wow Hossein really brought it back.

Ronnie looks rattled for the first time- he was frustrated with his cue towards the end and conceded the frame.

Exciting!

I guess I was right the first time.

Psychology is the difference between reaching a semi-final and winning a meaningful event.

He still needs a miracle to get through last two stages of a triple crown event because he becomes frail when the pressure is on
