Na Kaz jaan, Paul's ideas are even farther from Democrat's. Democrats are all about the government providing solutions to problems through programs and spending. It is called social welfare and in reality it is special interest welfare. In the long-run the end result is never the intended outcome even if the intentions are good.
Paul's ideology, nothing new by the way, is that the only function of the government is to ensure freedom so that people can solve their own problems.
There may be discussion about change but what change. Republicans, except for a small positive move under Reagan and continuation with the Republican congress during Clinton's, of late have been all about welfare too, in their case corporate welfare. What Democrats is a change in that towards a little more social welfare. This change has nothing to do with the change Paul calls for. His change is to reduce or cut out welfare of any sort. It is not government's business to force solutions on people.
Both the mainstream Republican and Democratic welfare systems are tyrannical and result in nothing but poverty over the long-run. However, very few people are willing to embrace freedom, what Paul advocates, despite the lip-service.
And o yes, the Bushes have been among the worst welfare presidents. In fact W. has been the worst welfare president in US history. They are essentially the continuation of Nixon except worse, much, much worse. Freedom was reduced more under W. Bush than under any other US President. This includes, economic as well as individual and political freedom. Government expenditure grew faster under W. than under any other US president since WWII.
