I am going to play the role of the devils advocate here.

When you really watch alot of porn that translates to also you staring at your monitor for extended periods of time and thus weakening eyes. :confused-

Unless you are old school and do get those magazines or dvds or TV programs for porn.

Sorry, I could not post a URL, cause I have not made 15 posts yet. I will send the URL about masturbation in people's opinion as soon as I post 15.
I couldn't care less about people's opinion. I would like to see scientific evidence or a legitimate study conducted by a reputable medical establishment.

Masturbation has nothing to do with deterioration of eyesight. This is an old-wife's tale.
There is not one scientific evidence that directly links the two variables to each other while excluding all other confounding variables.

It's like the myth that says if you eat your pizza crust you develop a hairy chest. Anyone else heard that one? :D

OK let me put my two cents into this topic. Take if from someone that was somewhat involved in the porn business in the past (this is an off topic discussion, and I don't want to get into it now). Firstly, Masturbation is indeed good for men. It has been proven to reduce the chance of Prostate cancer. Next the idea that it causes poor sight or makes your palm get hairy, I mean do I even have to address this BS?

Now violent porn has to be classified into many different parameters. Indeed original porn was based on violent themes, and many original pornography movies from the early 1900's had the sadomasochist themes. There were much milder than the themes we see today, but nevertheless taboo for their time. The whole concept of porn is to satisfy the often hidden desires of many people, who do not want to participate, rather just view such topics. Violent porn can be divided into really hardcore stuff (snuff films which are illegal and should be so), bondage (very big in Eastern culture specially Japan for a VERY long time) Spanking and rape theme simulation. Now the later one is being very closely monitored and is often times very close to being turned illegal.
Now I am not into any of the above themes, I do however enjoy porn like my friend Khorus, and I believe as long as someone is enjoying ANYTHING in the comfort of their own house, WITHOUT breaking the law and harming anyone is NO ONE'S business.

You could just do it the old fashion way and have sex instead.

hahahah @ it's funny now all the sudden everyone has been involved in the porn industry. Major porn stars now roam the ISP forums.

What I was reading about is that these videos are done with the consent of the females obviously but there have been many suspicious cases that haven't been fully covered over the issue of consent.

Actually, wacking off is sometimes better. But usually, I'd prefer the company!
The issue is that sometime you can't have company and the need is still there. Or that the person in your company doesn't enjoy the same activities, so you resort to viewing those activities and going it alone.

Dude, Rocco is not violent, he is just a little rought and some women like that. No big deal. We are talking about violent as in people get hurt! For me violent stuff does not even include S&M because the participant is willing and again, the submissive is the one in control, since there is a code word used by him/her to indicate when it is too rough. Stuff like real rape (not simulation), snuff films (which thank god, I haven't heard much about recently), are what I call violent, and they are currently illegal and should always remain that way.
yes...thank you...that's my word..

damn...me and you should only talk about Porn and nothing else.. LOOOOL
