Great picture , I remember this game was live on TV , finished 4-0 . They also played against Pas who played well against them but still lost 2-0 ,Eusebio was the star and the governor in both games .
He also came to Farokhzad show on TV and donated his Puma football boots for a competition on the show ,it was to shoot a ball through a hole on the board .
guess what ? out of all the adults including footballers who tried and failed Rowshanzadeh's 10 year son managed to put the ball in the hole and win the boots !

GREAT TO HEAR FROM OLD FAN AZIZ.....Although he looks like a setareye donbaledar,in which,he shows himself,once every many years!!!!,and he does not consider us,how we miss his posts seriously,but anyway,even one post a month could be enough for us,at least,we understand,how well you are doing aziz.....
yes,benfica came to iran,with all his great players,Eusebio,nene,arthur george,and his great GK,jose henrique,a great one,who was known as the best in WC 1966...especially,with his heroic performance in wimbley,against england,he saved at least 5 goals,for portugal,on that night.....although portugal lost the game 2-1 to england,and could not reach to final,but his great job,once again against russia,in Runners up,put portugal third in WC 1966....
But in Amjadieh,he had a very easy night,perhaps,in the first half,he just got about few shots,but nothing,to jeopardize his goal....on the contrary,it was Aziz asli,who was the most wanted man in this match...eusebio,arthur george,and nene,many times,attacked perspolis defence,but Aziz asli,was the unique on that game...while people,came to stadium,to see the great portugese player,Eusebio,but you could easily,see on their face,how they fear of this black muzambickian player....his strong shot,against lee young mou,in 1966,and 4 goals he scored to North korea,still was in perspolisi fans. memories
on the other hand,perspolis,had done a very good job,against best club in europe,although before this friendly game,they had lost 4-2,against grass hoppers of switzerland,but that game,was one of the best game,they had already played....just few months,before this game,perspolis managed to beat Govarani,one of the best Brasilian team,in Amjadieh,with a goal by behzadi..so,this game,could have been,another successful night for them.....
on that night,Aziz Asli,was a hero for perpolisi fans.....till min 76,he was succesful,to keep his goal clean,and with out doubt,we do not have to forget jafar kashani,attitude....he tried to encourage his team,to resist and end the game 0-0....in the second half,jose henrique,was the least playerweho did not do anything,and again,Aziz Asli,was the busiest man in the field....between,minutes 50,and 60,arthur george header,touched the post twice,and ball went out...
perspolis fans,and amjadieh,was in total silence,and nobody,even could dare to greet perspolis players...they were under attack one by one...even kalani,decided to come back,and help his defence......every thing went well,till min,76,when,a great shot by Eusebio,touched the post,and touched the net...now the game was 1-0...the storm,began,arthue george header in min 81,and another shot by Eusebio,was enough to announce the game 3-0,for benfica.....and min 90,the fourth goal by eusebio,the champion of WC 1966,and game ended 4-0,for benfica.....
on that night,Aziz Asli,did one of his great job,against an EX-champion of UEFA,which hardly lost its final against man.united in 1968....
after,this game,eusebio,and his fellows,invited to a Miami reastaurant,and thosands of fans,were outside,just to get a signature from Eusebio.....on that night,they were escorted by special guard to the restaurant,and police was obligated to close the roads,and disperse the fans....
many years after in this event,when,both Iran,and portugal,had to race each other,in WC 2006,Eusebio,explained his memories,about the night,and said,IRANIHA MEHMAN-NAVAZTARIN ENSANHAYE ROOYE ZAMIN HASTAND.....
it has almost passed 42 years from that event,..those days,either benfica club,and perspolis club,were among the best In europe,and asia......many years,has passed,but memories of these great players,still in our mind.....

three years after,in WC 1966,once again,portugal,with leadership of Eusebio,succeded to beat brasil 3-1,and eliminate this team from WC 1966.....................
