محمد علي آبادي دوشنبه شب در نشستي با بازيكنان و مديران سايپا افزود:
علي دايي سابقه طولاني در فوتبال داخلي و بين المللي دارد و از اين حيث سابقه خوبي دارد.
وي افزود: دايي شخصيت جنگندگي دارد و ميل به موفقيت در او موج مي زند، وي مي تواند انگيزه لازم را براي موفقيت تيم ملي در بازيكنان ايجاد كند.
علي آبادي در ادامه تصريح كرد: بايد فضايي ايجاد كنيم تا كار براي سرمربي و تيم ملي مهيا شود و اين تيم به قهرماني نزديكتر گردد.
رييس سازمان تربيت بدني ادامه داد: بايد براي موفقيت تيم ملي از تمامي امكانات آن استفاده كنيم.
وي اضافه كرد: مردم ايران غرور بينالمللي را در ورزش همچون اقتدار ايران در ساير زمينه ها خواستار هستند، به همين دليل بايد به خواست مردم احترام گذاشت و در رسيدن به اين نياز تلاش جدي كرد.
وي در ادامه به انتخاب علي دايي اشاره كرد و افزود: معتقدم كسي به عنوان سرمربي تيم ملي انتخاب شد كه تمام جامعه فوتبال كشور و مردم با اين مسئله مثبت برخورد كردند.
وي درعين حال از جامعه ورزش، سازمان صدا و سيما، خبرگزاريها، مطبوعات و آحاد مردم خواست كه تا انتها، اين جوان رعنا و غيور را حمايت كنند.
وي در ادامه به خصوصيات علي دايي نيز اشاره كرد و افزود: علي دايي شاخصه ها و ويژگيهاي منحصر به فردي دارد كه او را نسبت به ديگران برتر مي كند. وي در ادامه افزود: ما به نسبت ظرفيتهاي كشور از علي دايي و تيم ملي انتظار داريم و اميدواريم پس از صعود به رقابتهاي جام جهاني از گروه خود بالا بيائيم.

I agree with St. Mark here. Daei was the first and only choice of AliAbadi. THe reason Kafashian and his gang are giving for not selecting Qotbi is BS. Kafashian Said Saidlou wanted Qotbi to stay at Perspolis.
Why did allow Daie to continue coaching Saipa in the IPL, AFC championship while becomingthe TM coach but could not do that with Qotbi given he Qotbi has a better supporting coaching staff in Estilli than Daei has with Saipa?
Or is it that Mr. Saidlou love Perspolis more than TM?

Lets assume it's true that Ahmadinejad and Ali Abadi support the choice of Daei instead of Ghotbi as TM coach. so what? I say good for them for recognizing a more qualified and better talent.
