And whats better ?
I mean either way we will have to play either S.Korea or Australia
I am pretty sure that S.Korea will win group C with Australia finishing second
so whats betther for Iran, playing S.Korea or Australia so early in the 1/4 finals?
I say lets finish first and play Australia

no use getting so excited for the asian cup. Iran has no chance of winning it!!!!!....... And the answer to your question is well we will probably end up 1st in the group stages.

But, we will get taken out by South Korea in the next round.......

so what u r saying is that Australia and not Korea will win group C therefore we will play the runner up of that group which will be S.Korea right !

I disagree
first of all we do have a chance to win the cup
I also believe that S.korea is gona win that group ans we could end up playing Australia
in the 1/4 finals.

I dont have high hopes, but TM always surprizes you when you expect the least.

I would take Asutralia any day.. we have played Korea many times, so lets bring in some excitement, and some memories from 98. Overall TM can handle Australia style better than Korean quick football style.

Actually we usually play well against South Korea, I just checked and the last time we lost against them was a friendly in 2005. Iran's been unbeaten for 6 matches after that against South Korea, although it's worth noting that 4 of those were draws ;). South Korea plays open and attacking football, which gives Iran space to play. The Arab countries, for example, play with compact defences and Iranian players don't have the tactical capabilities to play their way through that. Not sure about Australia, last time we played them was the famous match in '97.

To me it doesn't matter! If we are to win it all, we should be ready for anyone, doesn't matter where and what round, we need to beat all our opponents... The problem with Asia overall is that there are big differences in styles from one country to another...
So between So. Korea and Australia, they are both strong opponents and are also contenders.

it seems like iff doesn't care anymore ,instead of tm players playing some warmup games and training ,our football went to nonesense side issues, first bagheri left ,then ghotbi to japan ,then ferdosipour saga and perespolis and eses bad results and daie issues .always some less important issue overshadow the main issues in iran .

I PERSONALY WOULD LOVE TO SEE US PLAY AUSTRALIA IN THE 1/4 FINALS AND I BELIEVE WE CAN BEAT THEM AS WELL
I AM SOMEWHAT OPTEMISTIC ABOUT OUR CHANCES,WE HAVE HAD GOOD FRIENDLIES SO FAR THIS YEAR,WE WILL HAVE 3-4 MORE FRIENDLY GAMES BEFORE OUR FIRST MATCH VS. IRAQ
ALL IN ALL I BELIEVE OUR TM WILL BE VERY MUCH READY PHIYSICALY BUT MENTALY AND COACHING WELL WHO KNOWS ??

well I think we'll finish 2nd, although we can do well and qualify as first team. but yeah we are better off playing against Australia than South Korea. although at the end, with our current flawed defense, we'll not get passed the knock-out stage.

Last night I dreamed that we lost the oppener to Syria 1-0. Funny that Syria was not even in our group.. but I guess this is an indication that with TM everything is possible hahah :D
