Fantastic final bout.i really enjoyed it. what a great pair of Fito technique by Nematpoor to win Gold. great buildup for the technique by controlling and working on Tahmassebi's upper body followed by great timing and great force to turn him over for the points. the 2nd Fito was mighty crucial as Nematpoor was on 2 cautions (ekhtar) and a 3rd caution would have disqualified him but the 2nd Fito prevented that. well deserved Gold for Nematpoor. :)

Saman Tahmassebi is a great wrestler too. he dominated his opponents in all his bouts leading to the final bout. well deserved Silver for him in this all Iranian final. :)

do any of nourbakhsh and faghihi winners made it to final , so these guys has any chance ??
No. both winners went on to lose at some point and that eliminated Faghiri & Nourbakhsh with only one loss each.

I would like to see a change in format. this current format is basically 2 large knock out stage brackets from the very beginning of the competition.you lose one match and you are basically out of Gold medal chance. i would like to see several smaller brackets in a group stage type format where every wrestler in each group wrestles all other wrestlers in that group and the wrestler with most wins/points advances to the next stage which would then be knock out stage.

ALIYARI lost the bronze medal match
He is very young and this was his first International experience in senior level. he still managed to win 5th place and get some points to help the team in overall team standings.

Any more matches tomorrow?
Yes. tough brackets for all 3 Iranian wrestlers today.

66 kg : Afshin Biyabangard

74 kg : Hadi Alizadeh

120 kg : Amir Akbari

Aliakbari's semi-final match against the powerful Reza Kayaalp from Turkey was fantastic. he fell behind by 1-0 but turned it around with a couple of take downs and a great barandaz to win it by 4-1. Aliakbari had to lost to Kayaalp last year and promised to beat him this time around in an interview before leaving Iran for Budapest. he kept his promise. :)Aliakbari will play for Gold today against Heiki Nabi from Estonia.

Russia : 25 p
Hungary : 24 p
Armenia : 20 p
Azerbaijan : 20 p
S.Korea : 17 p
Iran : 16 p (can go up to 26 if Aliakbari wins Gold or 25 if he wins Silver)
so the points was distributed between many teams I guess !

Russians and Koreans have both two finalists today in 66 and 74 !!

ok look like Russian has two more finalist so they win it by far ! that give them at least 10 points lead over second place !korea have also two more finalist today so they will finish second most likely . our best chance is 3th place ! not bad for a totally young and new squad

Yup. not only a young squad but also lacking international experience as federations lack of funding resulted in missing several international tourneys before this competition.

Fantastic medal bouts in 66 kg. :)

Germany's Staebler defeated Azeribaijan's famous Hassan Aliyev for Bronze medal in a great match.

S. Korea's Han Su Ryu came back with a great take down and real quick barandaz to make it 3-3 against Russia's Islam Albiev and then forced a 3rd caution on Albiev to win Gold.
