^^^What that doesn't tell you is that almost everyone who is hospitalised with omicron is either obese or has an underlying comorbidity.

There is no justification to lock people up.
Not true, my colleague who is the fittest human being, has had few days of hell.

Exactly... if someone gets 10x the viral dose of the next person then they're likely to get sicker. I know people with multiple health problems who have had Omicron like a "cold" and others who have got really sick.

Unfortunately everyone seems to have become an armchair epidemiologist or public health specialist so if something fits into their narrative, they regurgitate it.

Thankfully the virus overall seems much less severe than the earlier ones but still... This highlights the importance of vaccination in making sure that people don't end up in ICU

I didn't say everyone. I said almost everyone and my point was about hospitalisation and critical care. The overwhelming majority of those infected with omicron had relatively mild symptoms and recovered at home. Of course being already double vaccinated helped a lot too.

In a few years time, there will be many people who will lie to their kids about the stance they took during this pandemic and they will be mostly the lock-down cheerleader c#nts.

Here's a piece he wrote at the start of lockdown. So no one can accuse him of being wise after the event.
But at that time, the MSM sheep would call this guy a conspiracy theorist.

Do you guys actually read the articles you post? Or is that someone posts it somewhere and claims it to be the evidence of something and you just follow along, rinse and repeat?

FYI... The first article (Aug 2020) only claims, rightfully, that the epidemic models are not very accurate. Pointing to it as evidence of some conspiracy is like saying the TV said it was going to rain and it did not, so there is a weather-man conspiracy.

The second one (the older one), points out that at the time of the writing (March 2020) there was not a lot of information to guide decision making. Duh!!! How is that some major revelation that Bubba so cleverly discovered?

FYI again, since the writing of the second article (Aug 2020) 325,000,000 more people have been diagnosed, and another 5,000,000 have died!!! And if you think they were mostly fat, lame, or ugly, well then.....

YUP!!! Sure sounds like a conspiracy theory to take away the freedoms of Trump-loving people.

In the words of that great philosopher GW Bush: "Is our Children learning"? I guess the answer is a loud and clear NO!!

Epidemiologist are like economist, they can't predict anything, just explain what is going on, which doesn't apply to the next event LOL

My whole family got the omicron. Gotta say, it is fucking unpleasant. I got it the day I was scheduled for booster shot.

I think the one not reading is you.

No one every mentioned anything about conspiracies. Certainly not me, not on this and not on anything before this on this forum or anywhere else. In fact I have written that Covid conspiracy theories are stupid.

In fact what I was pointing to is exactly what you said yourself, which is at the time of those articles, which is when lockdown happened, there wasn't enough justification for the draconian measures that were taken. That was the point.

As we now know, at least here in the UK, the SAGE predictions were all based on worst-case scenarios and proved to be wrong.

It doesn't mean Covid was a conspiracy. Why can't supposedly intelligent people understand that criticising the overblown panic and extent of lockdown is not akin to saying that Covid doesn't exist? It's really not that hard to grasp.

So my question is what should have the done ? (Regardless what the model says)
I mean we saw that the healthcare system locked down in the first few months because simply we were not prepared. After the vaccine is another story but you remembered they had to bring military ship in NY and patient were in the parking lot of the hospital. So please tell us with the knowledge that you have in 2022, what would you have done in 2020 ?
