It's not surprising with the way he played... he was perfect, he scored and assisted the other 2 goals. Even the Gol TV commentator clapped for him when he left the soccer field (after being subbed out)!! That was an amazing performance by Taremi... it will stay with me for life!

Zenit sent all foreigners home and guess what? They beat bottom table already relegated Tambov 5-1 and Dzyuba scored 4 and won the top scorer by 20 goals. Azmoun had 19 and 3 goals edge before today.
Stupid decision by the club if the foreigner were forced to leave.

No!!!!! damn!!!!

Well the club doesn't care which one of their players gets to become the top scorer unless they want to sell the player. Frankly I don't think Zenit are intrested in selling Azmoun. Him and Dzyuba are delivering every season and with them, Zenit is unstoppable in the league. Why would they wanna change that? Azmoun himself is comfortable there and we know he never wants to leave his comfort zone unless he has to. What he gets in Zenit every season:

*Good money
*Becoming the league's top scorer fairly easily
*League title
*Playing in the CL

It all works out well for both sides.

It is sad. We talk a lot about how stupid Jahanbakhsh was to choose Brighton. but at least you can give him the credit for wanting and actually trying to progress by moving to a more difficult league. If Azmoun had an ounce of Jahanbakhsh's "jorbozeh" and was a bit more goal-oriented, he would have already been playing in a top club in one of the top 4 leagues for a couple of years.

Unfortunately he lacks the personality to reach the top of the top. and Zenit are more keen on seeing a Russian player winning the top scorer chart. Why wouldn't they be?

very good decision by Zenit. Saved Sardar from possible injury before his move to a new club.

Counterpoint, good for Sardar for living his best life. He is probably happy in Russia, has his playing time and goals and has been able to achieve his life goal of owning many horses. I'm happy for him.

I'd much rather he stay in Zenit than go to England where the racists would try to injure him or bench him on some shit no name/no prestige club.
