I thought they played decent as a team and created some good chances but lacked finishing. lost the ball in dangerous areas several times in final minutes and got punished for it eventually. good comeback in the end to get a draw.

I really like Kia, I hope he can do it but I don't think he would be able to. Zero preparation for this team.
He was really disappointed prior to tournament.

TM Omid's 2nd group stage match will be on Saturday (June 4th) against Turkmenistan.
Uzbekistan top the group with 1-0 win over Turkmenistan in their first match. Uzbeks will face Qatar on Saturday (June 4th)

Erfan Shahriari's 89th minute equaliser against Qatar is worth watching it again. He came on as a sub (for Yousefi) in the 2nd half and scored the equaliser that earned TM Omid one point against Qatar.
Shahriari is 20 years young and plays as attacking midfielder for Paykan FC & TM Omid.

I saw a good potion of the game and I thought Iran did pretty well, given the totality of the situation, preparation etc. Qatar is a good team. Iran is stil suffering from a bit of the khoreh syndrome, but I have to admit much better than previous editions.
Kia seems to be doing well. Hope he can take the team all the way to the Olympics and then some. He and Iran deserve any success coming their way. BTW. Pretty awesome goal just at the right time.

Turkmenistan's equaliser (from penalty spot) came against the run of play as Iran had been dominating the game from the start till mistakes by Ghorbani & Hashemnejhad resulted in Turkmenistan's penalty and equaliser.
Giving the ball away too often has been a problem for this TM Omid side in both matches and it has resulted in Qatar's goal & Turkmenistan's penalty and subsequent goal.
