What do you guys think about killing political threads ? Only focus on sports and entertainment.
I don't think having political threads around is bad. Specially when a few members are already attracted to the forum mostly for that. As long as everyone discuss things politely, I don't see any problem with it. and if they don't, same rule for disrespecting others should be applied there.

But at the very least news threads should definitely be allowed so we can share and spread the information. Specially for the many news from Iran which do not get published by the media.

On the topic of having politica;l threads. It is not bad on surface per se, IF people can debate respectfully. Now at the old place I was a moderator, they were real gentlemen. People had different political beliefs, some were socialists, other capitalists to everything in between. We would even have a thread titled the Political thread so all political related stuff, went in there. We had one for Iranian politics and one for international politics.

It all depends on the maturity of the members who are in the forum. However, unfortunately, I have seen here, that SOME members can't handle a disagreement maturely. They think that an attack on their opinion is an attack on them. I think we don't have to get rid of politics on ISP per se, but we should have extra moderators to monitor the posts. What we would do is when someone cursed, we would edit but honestly during my tenure, I only had to edit two posts.

So can it be done, can Iranians and politics co-exist, I think the answer is YES however ooh man that is a tough task. I do NOT envy our resident Esteghlal admin.

Also, does anyone know the whereabouts of Soroush Lessen aka BT? I haven't heard a peep from him in quite some time. Did we manage to have another poor moderator run for the hills, come on guys, we are better than this.

Like I always say, "Save the fighting for our enemies, save it for the Arabs, Persian don't attack Persian."

This is how I see it: if you create a thread and call it CQ appreciation thread and say in this thread is for the followers who appreciate CQ, and think he is the best coach in the world then that is the purpose of this thread. Then nobody should come and bash him. However, if your title is CQ is the greatest coach in Iran history, anybody can challenge that. But again, I won't allow insult to members.

Past is past, just please outline what you think makes this place better. I always say, let's live for future.
We need front page to have latest sports news. It should not be only forum. May be try to get advertising!
Also may be more breakdowns of discussions. For example discussion based on players such as Azmoun, Taremi and Jahanbaksh.

I was responsible for the front page for few months, merely copy paste from other sites makes no sense, unless if we write our own articles. Nobody read the front page anyways. I think site like footbalitarin has the latest news and so hard to compete with.

@Iran-Esteghlal-Inter now we don't have to copy and paste but isn't there a way we could put a program where say it has the updated ESPN or fox table for the IPL? I am sure some techno Wiz like you can handle that. I think I would be a good addition as not a moderator or an admin but a sportswriter. I am remaining topical, grammatically correct, and people are liking what I have to say. I explained the aggregate away goal rule to Sly jan. If our resident Hala Madrid admin has no issues with that, I don't think I am asking for too much. I just would like to put my minor in journalism and my secondary Masters in English Lit, from BYU to good use. I could add some content and articles but like Tehol B mentioned, cite sources. Here is an impromptu article on why Azmoun would be a good fit in the Bundesliga and at Leverkusen.

Just an example, thoughts?
Why Sardar Azmnoun would be a good fit at Bayer Leverkusen
According to ESPN.com Serdar Azmoun shots an average of 0.65 goals per game in club competitions. Last season his average was 0.68 goals per game, he scored 21 goals in 31 club matches. Sardar Azmoun would be an excellent fit for Leverkusen because he is good enough to be in the starting xi. They do not have an elite #9 and Azmoun could play multiple positions. He could play FW, MF or be a Winger so he is versatile. The word for it is position less football. The Golden St Warriors of the NBA started this trend in basketball, players who could play multiple positions on the pitch and or court.
The competition in the Bundesliga is much stiffer than the Russian Premier League but Leverkusen needs some scoring power, so he is a perfect fit. According to ESPN Bundesliga table, German Bundesliga News, Stats, Scores - ESPN Bayer Leverkusen are currently sitting at 3rd place 22 games played 41 points collected, so as is, they qualify for the 2023 UEFA Champion’s League. Although Leverkusen probably will not catch the Bundesliga table leaders Bayern Munich who have 52 points, Azmoun should see action in the UEFA UCL next year. The four place is a bit messier with Hoffenheim, Leipzig and Freiberg all with 34 points.
Coach Gerardo Seoane Castro received a good player, at a price that did not break the bank. I do not have the numbers, but it is a contract until 2027. What some people do not know is due to a technicality of Zenit waiting, they receive zero because he was a free agent. Apparently, there was an agreement that Zenit would get some of Azmoun’s purse but now he can keep all of the money. According to fox sports the average player under 23 makes 900,000 a year as a base salary but a player 23-27 can make 1.77 million. Azmoun is probably making anywhere form 1.5-2,000,000 a year.
Leverkusen is a city in picturesque North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany on the eastern bank of the Rhine. To the south, Leverkusen borders the city of Cologne and to the north is the state capital Düsseldorf.

Finally, congratulations on your new position. I hope I am good enough to at least be a sportswriter so I could put my masters in English Lit at BYU, into good use. I could probably even convince the teachers at BYU to give me some extra credit for the articles, under outside of school or sports activities. That is up to

I disagree, most of sites refer to news articles that posted in their sites. It is very random to write your own articles. Most of visitors to ISP site do not have time to browse the news. So, I recommend having news section.

This forum has been around for over 25 years in its four different iterations.

And it has been here for one main reason. The only prerequisite for someone running the site should be that they are passionate about iranian sports. Otherwise, what's the point? The site will continue to die a slow death which is such a shame for a site which has provided so much insight over the years.

There are still dozens of old members which we hope to see return (and are still active elsewhere), and others who are tired of being fed flat earth/pandemic is a hoax etc... conspiracy theories and just want to be in a forum setting. Fariborz says that forum is dead, well some iranian sport forums have over 1200 active members at the moment - so clearly this isn't the case! As Pooya always says quality not quantity is most important, but we still have so much potential here with the most historic iranian sport forum.

I wish Gol Bezan would still consider absorbing this forum as it would really synergise with their media and provide a completely different sort of source and outlet.
