I am not a football expert but I think 4-4-2 is a very hard style to pull off in modern football. GN insists on playing this style. This will be problematic against fast East Asian teams in Asian Cup.

IMO Newcastle or any other Vatani coach will get the same disappointing results unless they have a very good assistant (fairly experienced with good knowledge of today football). Someone like Farhad Majidi's Italian assistant. Credit to FM but without his assistant he wouldn't have achieved what he did last season. Someone like him can help a lot. Of course if the head coach's ego doesn't get in the way

To me the worst part was Kanani gooril at the end. Kiri tournament, kiri opponents, 1-0 up, last minute of the game and objecting to a call like a mad man while being on a yellow already . Then receiving second yellow and red and continue the kiri act by sitting in the middle of the field
