به گزارش "ورزش***سه"، کارلوس کی روش در نشست خبری، پیش از دیدار با تیم ملی ازبکستان اظهار داشت: «این بازی سخت ترین بازی ما محسوب می شود؛ چون مقابل قوی ترین تیم گروه بازی می کنیم. ازبکستان در دو بازی گذشته نشان داده چه تیم آماده و جان سختی است. وی ادامه داد: «بخشی از تیم من آسیب دیده است و با مصدومان زیادی دست و پنجه نرم می کردم؛ اما تیم خوبی داریم و از بابت غایبان، نگرانی وجود ندارد؛ البته خبر خوش برای ما بازگشت یکی، دو نفر از این مصدومان است که می توانند در بازی فردا به ما کمک کنند.» سرمربی تیم ملی همچنین گفت: «رشد تیم من قابل توجه است. در سال های گذشته اندک بازیکنانی از ایران در اروپا بازی می کردند اما حالا من 11 لژیونر دارم که بعضی از آنها در بهترین مسابقات اروپایی بازی می کنند.» کی روش در بخش دیگری از حرف هایش تاکید کرد: تیم من به جایگاهی رسیده است که هیچ نگرانی ندارد. همه بازیکنان برای اینکه به ترکیب اصلی برسند، تلاش دو چندان می کنند. کافی است به بازی های قبلی ما نگاه کنید تا به این رقابت پی ببرید. برخی بازیکنان من قادر به بازی در چند پست هستند و در حال حاضر من برای هر پست دو بازیکن آماده دارم.
وی درباره اعتراض خودش به داوری بنجامین ویلیامز عنوان کرد: فوتبال با اشتباهات سهوی اش زیبا است. ما انتظار داریم در بازی فردا یک قضاوت صادقانه از کادر داوری ببینیم و هیچ تنشی هم با کسی ازجمله ویلیامز نداریم.همانطور که گفتم او یکی از داوران سرشناس آسیا است و در بازی قبلی ما هم اشتباهی بزرگ مرتکب شد که با سرنوشت ما بازی کرد.
