When klinsmann got sacked they were 5th or 6th on the table of the WC qualifying , and since Bruce Arena took charge they have yet lost a match a game and they are now 3rd. Should they beat Mexico away tonight then they'll be in a very pretty good position with still 12 more points to play ...

Good job Iraq and khak too sar UAE! They also tied Thailand 1-1. Seems like Japan now have the hardest way of direct qualification as they need to face both Australia and KSA when those two will have one easy game each against Thailand and UAE. This is how the standing looks like:
Japan 17, +9 (v. Australia and at KSA)
KSA 16, +7 (at UAE, v. Japan)
Australia 16, +6 (at Japan, v. Thailand)
In other group Syria is leading China 1-0 (50'). I'd love to see them finishing third instead of Uzbeks.
